I Am Legend is a 2007 American post-apocalyptic action thriller movie loosely based mostly on the 1954 novel of the identical title by Richard Matheson. Directed by Francis Lawrence from a screenplay by Akiva Goldsman and Mark Protosevich, the movie stars Will Smith as US Military virologist Robert Neville.

It’s set in New York Metropolis after a virus, which was initially created to remedy most cancers, has worn out most of mankind, leaving Neville because the final human in New York, aside from nocturnal mutants. Neville is resistant to the virus, and he works to develop a remedy whereas defending himself in opposition to the hostile mutants. It’s the third feature-film adaptation of Matheson’s novel following 1964’s The Final Man on Earth and 1971’s The Omega Man.

Warner Bros. started creating I Am Legend in 1994, and numerous actors and administrators had been connected to the mission, although manufacturing was delayed as a result of budgetary considerations associated to the script.
