The success of the first Michael trailer prompted me to make trailer 2 despite its challenge. This is one of the most difficult projects I’ve ever made. Because there are no cast details about the upcoming film, and to make the trailer good we need to hear MJ’s music, everything are not the typical nature of dream trailers I have to improvise. What made trailer 1 great like showing fresh clips from MJ tribute shows showing large crowd I brought to the trailer. To give this a real movie feel we need real famous actors, so I made Samuel L Jackson play Joe Jackson Michael’s father. Then Chris Tucker’s presence is a must because him and Michael are best friends in real life so I used clips from SILVER LINING PLAYBOOK.
I wanted to begin the trailer similar to Bohemian Rhapsody teasing our main character of the story. By doing that I avoided showing MJ yet, simply showing pictures of him on the wall, clip of his jacket. Then just like in BR we see a large crowd waiting for him to perform. As a personal favorite I played B1l1e J3an to kick off the trailer. Most of the MJ parts are from SEARCHING FOR NEVERLAND film. As of the making of this we know that Jaafar Jackson will be playing MJ, most likely the young version so I made sure to include him here thanks to his music video. For the song Man 1n The M1rror I showed MJ looking at himself in the mirror to connect the song. The outcome of the trailer turn out to be better than expected, so it was worth the challenge!
