JCVD against Dolph. Lundgren, Michel Qissi, or even Bolo Yeung, his legendary adversaries from Universal Soldier, Kickboxer, and Double Impact? What’s My Name promises? the last action film of the Belgian star’s career.

At 61, Jean-Claude Van Damme believes it is time for him to retire and make way for young people. Interviewed by Deadline, the actor announces the filming this year of What’s My Name? in Paris, a film that looks like a tribute to his career.

With the realization of Jeremy Zag (a Frenchman among others the producer of Miraculous) and with the scenario Nick Vallelonga (Green Book) and Paul Sloan (the Black Antenna series inspired by the group Alice In Chains).
The story: Following an accident, JCVD who plays his own role has amnesia. Without any memory of his past life, he will find himself facing the most emblematic adversaries of his film career.

“I wanted to leave the scene by revisiting my career” he confides to Deadline, ” starting with Bloodsport, the movie that made me famous. I want this movie to be a new Bloodsport but on a higher level….

In this new movie, we will integrate elements of my real life… I came from Belgium to Hollywood. I succeeded, I failed, I came back. In the film, I come out of a preview of yet another action film.
I am unhappy because I’ve been living in hotel rooms for 30 years which is true. And boom, a car knocks me over because I’m drunk. When I wake up I can’t remember my name and nobody knows who I am.”

What’s my name? is described as a big mainstream action movie in which JCVD is a real human superhero. After this film, Van Damme intends to enjoy life, his family, and his boat, he explains.
