The world of bodybuilding is one such sport which can be so rewarding to some and so damaging to others. To an outsider, the muscle-covered bodybuilder is a perfect specimen of what heights humans can get to physically. Bulging and rippled, professional bodybuilders can be an impressive sight to behold during competitions. Yet, in this sense, the sport can sometimes be a complete façade. All of this means that in the world of bodybuilding, competition can often push many individuals to extremes. Sometimes their bodies just can’t handle it. There are those whose competitive nature gets the best of them, making them do foolish or dangerous things they otherwise wouldn’t attempt.

1. Ronnie Coleman.
Ronnie Coleman is a retired American professional bodybuilder. He’s regarded as one of the greatest ever bodybuilders, earning the nickname “GOAT” (Greatest Of All Time). Ronnie Coleman held the Mr. Olympia title 8 times. He has had a number of surgeries since stepping away from the competitive stage. While Ronnie Coleman has wowed fans across the globe with his otherworldly physique, the transformation certainly came at a price.

2. Andreas Munzer.
Munzer was an Austrian professional bodybuilder known for his extremely low body fat levels and early death. Between 1989 and 1996, Andreas placed highly in numerous competitions. Including the Mr. Olympia, and Arnold Classic. During this period, he became known for his extreme conditioning and unnaturally low levels of body fat – something that was linked to his premature death.

3. Helmut Strebl.
Helmut Strebl is an Austrian bodybuilder who’s so ripped he regularly goes viral across social media. He is regarded by many as the most shredded guy alive.

4. Paul Dillett.
Paul Dillett is a retired professional bodybuilder, and entrepreneur. By 2006, Paul took part in 40 competitions. He was nicknamed the “Freak-einstein”. Some of his best results on the stage were winning the 1999 Night of Champions, finishing 4th at the 1994 Mr. Olympia.

5. Aleesha Young.
Aleesha Young is an American professional bodybuilder and also a fitness model. She is best known in the fitness niche for her 2014 win in the NPC USA championships. Aleesha Young is listed among the most muscular female bodybuilders today.
