Joe Perry touts the return of Aerosmith’s Las Vegas residency: ‘Fans want live music’

Joe Perry hasn’t seen his Aerosmith bandmates since they walked offstage after a live performance in Las Vegas in February 2020.
However the quintet that Perry calls “America’s storage band” will storm the town once more in June with the return of its Deuces are Wild residency at Dolby Stay at Park MGM.
The acclaimed present, which adeptly knits the fiery rock hits of Aerosmith’s five-decade profession – “Stroll This Manner,” “Dream On” and “Residing on the Edge,” amongst them – with deeper cuts reminiscent of “Hangman Jury” and “Seasons of Wither” can also be a sonic and visible indulgence.
None of that may change throughout a spate of 24 dates from June 17 to Dec. 11– particularly, Perry tells USA TODAY, the huge elevate that juts the guitar hero and flamboyant frontman Steven Tyler over the viewers in the course of the encore.
“That (elevate) is one thing we usually wouldn’t do on the street, however judging from the response of the viewers, we’ll definitely preserve it within the present,” says Perry, 71, from his house in Florida. “I get as a lot of a kick out of it as anybody. That factor is swaying forwards and backwards – at one level in a present I needed to seize Steven by the belt and pull him again. However that’s the sort of stuff that makes it a rock ‘n’ roll present.”
