ason Statham says a near-death expertise on a movie set made him “extra appreciative” of life.
The motion star, 52, who has a son Jack along with his fiancée Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, virtually drowned in 2013 whereas making ready a stunt scene for The Expendables 3.
In an interview with Purple Bulletin, he described how he was driving a truck in direction of the ocean when the brakes failed and he crashed over the wall. He tried to get out of the automobile — which was in 5 to 10 metres of water — by way of an open window, however started to panic when his gun holster bought caught.
The actor, a former diver who competed for England on the Commonwealth Video games in 1990, ultimately managed to free himself.

Requested how the accident — which he described as “a nasty, nasty expertise” — had formed his life, he mentioned: “It’s an actual recalibration of all the things. From that day on, I’ve been so appreciative of life and with the ability to stroll on the bottom. On the movie’s premiere in 2014, co-star Sylvester Stallone mentioned Statham owed his life to his swimming expertise, including: “If anybody else had been in that truck we’d have been useless as a result of we have been all carrying heavy boots and gun belts. However as a result of Jason is an Olympic-quality diver he bought out of it.”
