A woman who claims she was home alone took a selfie to show her boyfriend a new pair of sunglasses and later became freaked out upon spotting two figures in the reflection of the glasses. The mum-of-three explained that her children, aged two, 14, and 18, were not at home that day, leaving her alone in the house.
After purchasing the sunglasses online, she decided to seek her boyfriend’s opinion before keeping them. While waiting for his response, she reviewed the picture to see how the shades looked and noticed “something in the reflection that didn’t belong there.”
Providing context for the photo, she described the setting: “I’m standing in my kitchen, facing the dining room. Directly through the doorway is my black dining room table and four chairs. That’s what you should be seeing in the reflection on my glasses. Buuuut that’s not what I see.”
Instead, she claimed to see “two figures, a young boy standing on the left and a taller (kind of unsettling) figure on the right, side by side.” She added that she believes in spirits, ghosts, and other entities and has been told by several spiritual mediums that a young boy spirit and a dark energy are attached to her.
She expressed her unease: “I’m not sure if that’s what’s being reflected in the glasses, but seeing whatever it is as clearly as I do sure scared the s*** out of me.”
The post was made in response to a question on Quora asking, “What’s the scariest thing you’ve found in a photo after taking it?” Many viewers were startled by the picture. One commenter said, “WTF! That scared the cr** out of me, and I’m just looking at the picture. I literally jumped back when I saw that… so scary.”
However, not everyone was convinced; some pointed out that “people see what they want to see” and suggested it could just be reflections or light effects. Another user joked, “Should have got them to give you their opinions on how the glasses looked on you.”
